New Recruits raise level of play and
help earn 3 of 4 points on the weekend

----------------------------------------------------------

It's early in the season and the revolving door in the KIJHL is at full speed including the Kamloops Storm. With a dismal 1-4 record and a 6.40 goals against average coming into the weekend the Storm needed to bolster it's backend.

And bolster it did! With Junior A clubs paring down the door is open for much needed help.

Bring on Cody Kightley (D - Merritt), David Osborne (D - Williams Lk) and Anthony Manfredi (G - Westside).

Result
- 1 overtime loss allowing only 2 goals + 1 win allowing only 2 goals.

Manfredi was a star in both games showing his quickness and discipline.

Not only were goals against down but the newest recruits played a big part in bolstering the offense.
Osborne had a goal on Friday night against Sicamous with Kightley picking up an assist.

In the 5-2 victory at home against Princeton, Kightley was a personal wrecking crew setting up 3 goals from the point and made numerous charges to the net to create offensive chances.

Both of these D-men saw plenty of powerplay and penalty kill time.

In addition to his quickness and discipline Manfredi impressed this cowboy with his ability to steer the puck out of harms ways and showed the willingness to handle the puck and start the offensive plays from behind his own net with authority.

Hopefully coach Perrier can build on this success. Perhaps the offense can perform more aggressively knowing that they can depend on their defensive brothers.

Next games:

Friday Sept 29 - Home - 7:30pm - Golden
Sat Sept 30 - Home -7:30pm - Sicamous (the rematch!)
