First of all, the person that writes the OHA blog appears to have a personal vendetta (for fake or real reasons is not for me to have an opinion on) with the OHA (Okanagan Hockey Academy).

It was predetermined that Bryant Perrier would be the man-in-charge 1.5yrs ago when Bryant chose to leave the Kamloops Storm. Bryant has been a head coach and GM before with Penticton in the BCHL. He was known for his controversial disciplinarian style. He is certainly capable of creating a positive and healthy environment for young men who want to "stay between the lines" as well as learn disciplined simple hockey.
As far as Kerr and his kid are concerned, I can't comment on because I haven't heard anything of it myself. Again, it was determined that Kerr would hand over the reigns to Perrier... it was just a matter of time.
As for the crack house... again, no news however sometimes you can't pick your neighbors. I'm pretty sure the kids pretty much know how to get "stuff" if they want it, at any school and in most areas.
i would say it all depends on who you talk too.
ReplyDeletefirst off if youre kid is fourteen. he wouldnt be close to playing in alberni or for the sting yet. i would want to see what they have just below that level.
rumors are rumors and like any group situation, there will always be somebody in a group of twenty that you wont like.
there are lots of coaches out there that have a controversial style and there will always be players that love or hate a certain coach. lots of players have said they hated a certain coach over their careers but he brought out the best in me.
i would go take a tour of the place and meet people who work there and meet the people who attend.
