Kamloops Storm dec.3rd

Last night Dec.3rd the Kamloops Storm took on the Golden Rockets in Golden.The Storm would come out on top in a 5-1 win to start a 3 games in 3 nights road trip.At 13:36 of the opening period Kevin Leschuk would score to make it 1-0 Kamloops with the assist going to Dylan Richardson.Than with 8:42 remaining in the 1st period Logan Hawgood would score to put the Storm ahead 2-0 assisted by Kevin Leschuk and Dylan Richardson.After 1 period it was Kamloops 2 and Golden 0.With 19:43 left in the 2nd period Brody Moen would score on the power play assisted by Mike Mccance and Tyler Jackson.Golden would reply with a power play goal of their own.After 2 periods it was Kamloops 3 and Golden 1.with 5:04 left to play in the 3rd period Mitch Johnstone would score assisted by Payton Schaefer than with 1:20 remaining in regulation time Payton Schaefer would score assisted by Cody Koskimaki.The 3 stars as chosen by the Golden media were from the Storm #1 Lynden Stanwood #2 Kevin Leschuk and #3 Payton Schaefer.Stanwood was voted hardest working play by his teamates turning aside 32 shots in the win.The team than traveled to Cranbrook to the Sandman Inn our home for the weekend.The trip normally a 2 hour drive took about 2:45 minutes as we saw tons of elk and deer at the side of the highway including a massive bull elk that was standing in the middle of the highway.This morning we awoke to a beautiful Kooteney morning with the sun shining.The team now plays tonight in Kimberly about a 30-45 minute bus ride down the road and than tomorrow 1 hour and 45 minutes in down the road in Creston.Catch all the action on kijhl.ca.
